About Dirk

I'm a professional trader and the founder of Street Smart Trader, created from a belief that trading education should be simple, practical and honest.

I know how overwhelming trading can look from the outside. Charts, terminology, strategies and endless opinions can make something that should be understandable feel unnecessarily complicated.

My approach comes from real trading experience — including the mistakes, lessons and discipline that can only be learnt by spending time in the market.

I don't teach trading because I want students to copy the way I trade. I teach because I want them to understand the market well enough to eventually make their own decisions.

I'm patient, straightforward and comfortable teaching complete beginners. There are no stupid questions in my lessons. If you don't understand something, we'll approach it differently until you do.

Trading isn't about being right all the time. It's about learning to manage yourself when you're right and when you're wrong.

That's one of the most valuable lessons the market has taught me — and one of the lessons I hope to pass on to my students.

About the lesson

Trading doesn't have to be complicated.

My lessons are built around one simple principle: learn to understand what you're doing, rather than blindly following signals, indicators or someone else's trades.

Whether you've never placed a trade before or you've been trading for a while and feel stuck, we'll start with where you are and build from there.

Beginners will learn the foundations step by step — understanding trading platforms, charts, brokers, market structure, risk management and how to approach the market responsibly.

If you're already trading, we'll look deeper. Bring your trading journal and we'll examine your trades together — not only what happened on the chart, but the decisions you made, your risk, discipline, patience and trading psychology.

I teach from practical trading experience, not textbook theory. There are no signals, guaranteed profits or get-rich-quick promises here. The goal is not to make you dependent on me. The goal is to help you develop the knowledge and confidence to make your own trading decisions.

Lessons are practical, conversational and adapted to your level. Questions are encouraged. If something doesn't make sense, we slow down and make it make sense.

Simple. Practical. Honest.
