About Jasmine
Hi! I'm Jasmine, a recent Psychology graduate from the University of British Columbia. I’ve always loved helping others understand complex ideas in a simple, encouraging way, and I bring that same clarity and support into every lesson I teach. With experience in academic research, essay writing, and psychology coursework, I understand what students struggle with, whether it’s structuring an essay, preparing for an exam, or making sense of dense theories. My goal is to create a comfortable space where you feel confident asking questions and proud of the progress you make. I’m patient, organized, and genuinely care about helping students succeed. I tailor each session to your needs and explain concepts in a way that finally makes everything “click.” Whether you’re aiming to boost your grades, strengthen your writing, or get ahead in your psych courses, I’m here to support you with professionalism, kindness, and clear guidance.

My tutoring style is clear, supportive, and highly personalized. I focus on breaking down complex ideas into simple, understandable explanations, and I tailor each session to the student’s individual learning style.
I use a mix of:
- step-by-step explanations for difficult concepts
- active learning techniques, such as real examples and practice questions
- structured writing templates to improve essays
- guided feedback, helping students understand why their work can be improved
- visual tools, such as diagrams, outlines, and study frameworks
A typical lesson plan:
Every lesson is structured but flexible depending on your needs. A usual session includes:
Quick check-in:
Understanding what you’re working on, upcoming deadlines, or concepts you’re struggling with.
Concept explanation or assignment breakdown:
- I simplify the topic and teach it in a way that makes sense to you.
- For writing, we outline the structure together and break down the rubric.
Guided practice or editing review:
- If it’s psychology: practice questions, examples, theory clarification
- If it’s writing: we revise your essay live, strengthen arguments, fix structure, improve clarity
Action steps:
I give you a clear, manageable plan for what to do before our next session (study plan, writing edits, concept summaries, etc.)
Q&A:
Making sure everything feels understandable before we finish.
I tutor high school (Grades 8–12) and university/college students who want support in:
Psychology and social sciences
English and essay writing
Reading comprehension
Study skills and exam preparation
Academic writing, APA format, and assignment help
I also work with anyone looking to improve essay structure, writing clarity, and critical thinking.
