About Randi

Hello! My name is Randi MacDonald, and I am a psychology graduate from the University of Prince Edward Island. I offer tutoring for students of all ages in subjects such as social studies, history, writing, and introductory psychology. I tailor each lesson to the student's level of learning, focusing on building understanding, confidence, and strong study skills. My goal is to make learning engaging, enjoyable, fun, and a successful experience for students.

About the lesson

I offer tutoring to students of all ages in a wide range of subjects, tailoring each lesson to their needs and unique learning styles. I firmly believe that education should be accessible to everyone, and I focus on building understanding, confidence, and skills for long-term success.

A Typical Lesson Plan With Me Looks Like:

1- Introduction (5-10 minutes): review material, discuss goals for learning outcome.
2- Core Learning (20-35 minutes): Students picks topic they require help with the most. Explanations and examples are given, as well as interactive activities such as quizzing. Student is encouraged to ask questions about any content they are struggling with.
3-Practice and Application (10-20 minutes): Sample exercises and worksheets are given to the student to work on to engage with material they have learned. For older students, this would be a great time to apply focus on assignments, essays, or exam prep. For the younger students being tutored, educational games can be used to reinforce concepts in a fun way.
4-Review and Feedback (5-10 minutes): Go back and summarize the material that was covered during the session. Highlight the strengths and weaknesses of the material and what requires more focus/attention. Assign optional practice for the student or reading for the next lesson.
5-Session Wrap-Up: Answer any final questions the student may have regarding material, study plan, or the next session. I highly encourage the student to set goals for themselves for the next session.

**Lessons are always tailored to the students age, education level, and interests.
