About Mabel
I study psychology at the University of Manchester and am currently in my second year of study. I have been tutoring primary school children in person and online for the past 2 years and also work with Debate Mate. I have tutored both in small groups and also one to one. For primary school students, the most important thing to learn is confidence and I have seen first hand how a bit of extra support and attention can have such rewarding benefits, with children realising their abilities and realising learning can be fun. I studied English, Psychology and Art at A Level and pursued acting at a professional level outside of school as well as achieving my grade 7 in both piano and trumpet.

My teaching method is 40:60 - I teach the children for 40% of the lesson, asking the children themselves to assist me in teaching and other 60% is guided and independent work. All my lessons are fun and confidence building. Being young and energetic myself, my students relate with me like they would not their children, forming a strong trusting pupil-tutor relationship where the students both enjoy my lesson and also aren't afraid to get something wrong, and try again if they do not succeed the first time.
