About Andrei

Teaching is more than knowing the subject. It’s the delivery.

I’m Andrei, a tutor with over 10 years of experience. I hold a BA in Political Science with a minor in Psychology from York University, and I help high school, college and undergraduate students make sense of their course material.

Psychology becomes more approachable when a theory connects to a familiar example and you can explain what the evidence actually shows. I use questions, examples and discussion to help students make those connections.

My approach is patient and straightforward. You can bring an unfinished idea or a confusing reading; we work from there, with the goal of building your understanding and independence.

About the lesson

Recognizing a psychology term is one thing; explaining it or applying it in an exam is another. These lessons help you move from reviewing notes to using the ideas with confidence.

We can work on:
• Learning, memory and cognition
• Developmental and social psychology
• Comparing theories and applying them to examples
• Research questions, study design, variables and evidence
• Reading research articles and identifying limitations
• Essay planning, academic writing and APA referencing

Bring your syllabus, lecture notes, reading or assignment question. We begin with the part you find difficult, work through an example, then check your understanding with a fresh question or explanation in your own words.

For essays, I help you develop your argument, connect claims to evidence and revise your own writing. For exams, we practise recall, application and clear written responses. Lessons are adapted to your course level and priorities.

One-to-one online support is available for high school, college and undergraduate students, in English or Russian. Weekday morning appointments follow Toronto/Eastern Time; international students are welcome.
