About Jaime

I am a 38-year-old bilingual educator and law enforcement professional, born and raised in Puerto Rico. Thirteen years ago, I moved to the United States to pursue greater opportunities and create a better life for myself and my family. I am happily married and the proud father of three children, who continue to inspire my dedication to education, mentorship, and service. Before beginning my law enforcement career, I spent six years teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) and Spanish to students from diverse cultural and educational backgrounds. For the past ten years, I have proudly served as a law enforcement officer, and I currently work full-time as a Field Training Officer, where I mentor, coach, and teach new police officers as they develop the knowledge, skills, and professionalism required for their careers. Additionally, I serve as a college-level Police Academy instructor, teaching future law enforcement professionals. I hold a bachelor's degree in education and a master's degree in justice administration, which have strengthened my ability to teach, lead, and communicate effectively. Outside of my professional responsibilities, I serve as an assistant travel volleyball coach for two of my children's teams, where I enjoy mentoring young athletes and promoting teamwork and personal growth. My teaching experience allows me to work effectively with learners of all ages, from young students to senior adults, and at all levels of language proficiency—from beginners who are new to the language to experienced speakers seeking greater fluency. My goal is to create a supportive, engaging, and personalized learning environment where every student gains confidence and achieves their academic, professional, and personal language goals.

About the lesson

My teaching approach is student-centered, interactive, and tailored to each learner's individual goals and learning style. As a bilingual educator from Puerto Rico with a bachelor's degree in education, a master's degree in criminal justice, six years of experience teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) and Spanish, and experience working with international students, I emphasize practical communication through conversation, real-world scenarios, and engaging activities. Each lesson begins with a brief review, introduces new concepts, provides guided and independent practice, and concludes with personalized feedback to reinforce learning. My experience as both a classroom educator and police academy instructor enables me to explain complex concepts clearly while fostering a supportive, structured learning environment. I work with students of all ages and proficiency levels, helping them build confidence and achieve their academic, professional, or personal language goals.
