About Lauren

Hi, I'm Lauren, a qualified Computer Science educator. I hold a PGCE in Computing from the University College London Institute of Education and a degree in Computing from Bournemouth University.

Alongside my classroom teaching, I work as a Python tutor and curriculum author at a reputable publishing house, creating educational resources used by schools and students nationally. This allows me to bring a wide range of teaching experience and up-to-date subject knowledge to every lesson.

I am passionate about making Computer Science education accessible, engaging and rewarding. Whether a student is aiming to boost their confidence, improve exam results or develop their programming skills, I provide professional, supportive guidance tailored to their individual goals. My aim is to help every student reach their potential and develop skills that will benefit them far beyond the classroom.

I am a qualified Computer Science teacher currently teaching at a leading independent school, with experience teaching KS3, GCSE and A Level Computer Science. Throughout my teaching career, my students have consistently achieved top grades, and I have extensive experience preparing students for public examinations.

My lessons are tailored to each student's prior attainment and individual goals. I break complex topics into manageable, bite-sized chunks, ensuring students develop secure understanding before moving on to more challenging concepts. I use proven learning strategies such as interleaving, retrieval practice and regular exam-style questioning to help students retain knowledge and build confidence.

Lessons are typically 60 minutes long and focus on both subject knowledge and exam technique. Whether a student needs support to improve their grades, boost their confidence, or achieve the highest marks, I provide structured and engaging lessons designed to help them make excellent progress and enjoyment of learning.
