About Eléna

I am Eléna, a native and qualified French teacher from Tours (Loire Valley) who is truly passionate about her mother tongue and her culture. I have completed a Master’s programme in French as a foreign language with the University of Sorbonne Nouvelle and I’ve been teaching French in London for almost 4 years. I taught in an English secondary school for a year and then 2 years at the Alliance Française. Since September 2020, I am proud to be part of the Institut Français teachers team. I am enthusiastic about teaching and always strive to do the best for my students!

About the lesson

Lessons are tailored to you which means they are built around your needs and interests. I focus mainly on speaking and listening during my lessons without forgetting the grammar. I am familiar with many textbooks but I also enjoy working with my own resources as well as authentic media types (articles, videos…) I try to make my lessons enjoyable and interactive. I use an immersive approach, so we'll talk mostly in French during the class. Don’t worry, it’s not as hard as it sounds and explanations can be added in English if necessary :) Finally, I am a judge for the DELF and TEF exams and can help you to get ready for those exams. All the lessons are online (Skype, Teams or Zoom). Materials used in class will be shared with you after the lesson.
