About Dominika

I am Dominika Zielinska, a Part III-qualified architect and interior designer based in London, with international experience across the UK and Dubai. My background spans luxury residential, hospitality and commercial projects, working from early concept development through to technical design and project delivery.

Alongside my design practice, I am passionate about mentoring and teaching architecture and interior design in a way that is practical, creative and industry-focused. Throughout my career, I have developed a strong understanding of spatial planning, design storytelling, materiality, client communication, technical drawings, visual presentation and real-world project coordination.

I specialise in AutoCAD, Vectorworks, Adobe Creative Suite, 3D modelling and rendering, alongside space planning, technical detailing, FF&E specification and visual presentation. I also work across SketchUp, 3ds Max and D5 Render to create high-quality visualisations and concept presentations.

Having worked within both architecture and interior design studios, as well as independently through my own brand, Nika Designs, I understand the challenges students and emerging designers face when transitioning from education into professional practice. My aim is to help others build confidence creatively and technically while developing their own unique design identity.

I believe great design is not only about aesthetics, but about creating spaces that feel timeless, functional and emotionally connected to the people using them.

About the lesson

At the beginning the most essential is to figure out what you want to achieve and what steps we need to take to get there, whether that is for university applications, CV preparations, portfolio preparation or software learning.

PORTFOLIO PREPARATION: We will discuss everything from the layout of the portfolio, development of ideas, graphical output and legibility of drawings in order to build on your existing portfolio or to start one up from scratch.

APPLICATIONS PREPARATION: We will go through what makes a good CV (legibility as well as content), how to prepare for an interview (university or a Part 1 position) and also work on your presentation skills.

SOFTWARE WORKSHOPS: Tutorials on commonly used softwares used in Architectural education and industry. Vectorworks (2D and 3D) , Autocad (2D) Sketchup(3d Modelling) - Twin motion(realistic rendering) - Photoshop (photo editing) - InDesign (portfolio design)
