About Shyam
Beyond the qualifications, what really matters to me is helping students feel capable and confident in their own ability — Maths can be daunting, but with the right support, real progress happens quickly. I keep communication open with both students and parents, track progress along the way, and adjust my teaching whenever something isn't quite working. Whether it's preparing for exams or just building a stronger grasp of the fundamentals, my goal is to create a supportive, reliable learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes as part of the process.

As a Maths tutor focused on GCSE level, I like to keep things practical and tailored to each student — figuring out where they're struggling, then breaking things down step by step with clear examples and plenty of practice until it clicks. Lessons usually run for an hour, giving us enough time to work through new topics, tackle problem areas, and go over homework without rushing. I'm CIMA qualified and hold a BSc in International Business, Finance and Economics from the University of Manchester, so I've got a solid analytical background that feeds into how I teach. I work with students of all levels up to GCSE, whether they need help getting the basics down or are pushing for top grades, and I adjust my approach depending on their skill level and pace.
