About Erica
I am an experienced educator and assessor with recognised teaching and assessing qualifications (AET and CAVA). I have worked with adult learners across education, childcare, and health and social care, supporting them to build confidence, understand assessment requirements, and progress successfully through vocational qualifications.
I enjoy teaching because I believe learning should feel supportive and achievable, particularly for adults who may have had negative experiences of education in the past. My approach is calm, practical, and learner-centred, with a focus on helping individuals understand what is expected and how to meet it clearly and confidently.
I am particularly passionate about inclusive, trauma-informed practice and supporting learners to develop both academically and professionally in ways that are realistic and sustainable.

My lessons are supportive, structured, and tailored to adult learners and vocational students. I specialise in supporting learners working towards Level 3 and Level 4 qualifications in education, childcare, and health and social care.
Sessions focus on understanding assignment briefs, breaking down assessment criteria, structuring written work, and building strong portfolios of evidence. I support learners to improve confidence, meet requirements, and progress at a pace that suits them.
I use a calm, practical, and trauma-informed approach, adapting sessions to individual learning styles and needs. Support may include assignment guidance, portfolio reviews, exam or assessment preparation, CPD-related learning, and general study skills.
Alongside learner support, I am involved in delivering CPD and professional development training for staff in education and care settings, including safeguarding and trauma-informed practice. This experience helps ensure learning is reflective, practical, and grounded in real-world professional expectations.
Lessons are delivered online and can be one-to-one or small group, depending on learner needs.
