About Joseph

I am a qualified Mathematics teacher with a First‑Class BSc in Mathematics, a PGCE in Secondary Mathematics and full Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). I have taught KS3, GCSE and A‑Level Mathematics in UK secondary schools and now work as a full‑time online tutor, supporting students across the UK and internationally.

I specialise in helping students develop clear understanding, strong problem‑solving skills and confident exam technique. My teaching is calm, structured and highly organised, making lessons suitable for students who benefit from clear explanations and a step‑by‑step approach. I work with learners of all abilities, including those aiming for Grades 7–9, students preparing for A‑Level transition, home‑educated students following a full curriculum and adult learners completing GCSE resits or Functional Skills.

I teach GCSE Mathematics, IGCSE Mathematics, GCSE Further Mathematics and A‑Level Mathematics across all major exam boards. I use diagnostic assessment to identify gaps, provide targeted intervention and ensure each lesson has a clear purpose and measurable progress. Students receive high‑quality resources, structured notes and regular feedback to support their learning between lessons.

I currently have full daytime availability for home‑educated and international students, as well as after‑school availability for GCSE and A‑Level exam preparation. About the lesson

My lessons are structured, clear and tailored to each student’s needs. Every session begins with a short diagnostic activity to identify gaps or misconceptions, followed by a focused explanation of the topic using step‑by‑step modelling. I prioritise clarity and logical progression, ensuring students understand not only how to complete a method, but why it works.

Students then work through guided practice and exam‑style questions to build confidence and accuracy. I place strong emphasis on exam technique: interpreting questions carefully, setting out working clearly and applying methods under timed conditions. This approach helps students develop the skills needed for consistent, high‑level performance.

Lessons are fully aligned with the relevant exam board specification (Edexcel, AQA, OCR or Cambridge IGCSE). I provide structured notes, high‑quality resources, targeted homework and regular feedback so students can track their progress over time.

I teach GCSE Mathematics, IGCSE Mathematics, GCSE Further Mathematics and A‑Level Mathematics. My lessons suit students aiming for strong grades, those preparing for A‑Level transition, home‑educated learners following a full curriculum and adult learners completing GCSE resits or Functional Skills.

My teaching style is calm, organised and academically rigorous, helping students build confidence, improve problem‑solving skills and achieve excellent outcomes.
