About Rossella

Welcome to my professional profile! I am a qualified native Italian tutor and I have been enjoying teaching Italian for the last 10 years. I am also a professional Online Counsellor and will be happy to apply my relational competences to improve the quality of our lessons. I was born and raised in Sicily, south of Italy, near the great Volcano Etna. I have recently moved to Berkeley, in California for my husband :-) (He can't speak Italian, ironic, eh?!) I am committed to achieve the goals we set together during the assessment. Looking forward to meeting and having you among my happy and satisfied students!

About the lesson

EXPERIENCE I worked at Società Dante Alighieri in individual and group classes, creating lessons that are engaging, interesting, and highly effective. I have been working online since 2014 and still enjoy it! You will learn how to interact with Italian speakers since the very first lesson and be able to ask and say things about yourself and others. APPROACH and METHODOLOGY Lesson length: 50 minutes Teaching approach and material - STUDENT CENTRED based on your characteristics, needs and on the latest scientific research literature available. - Focus on INTERACTION, EASE of communication. - Lessons are based on STUDENTS’ INTERESTS and REAL-LIFE SITUATIONS, to make the learning process more effective, rewarding and keep you highly motivated. All lesson materials and grammar resources are provided. - Method tools: Lesson plan - Needs evaluation test - Short and long-term goals - Progress diary Setting Friendly and fun environment to provide the best stress-free class possible, where every mistake is a sign of improvement not something to be ashamed of. QUALIFICATIONS - DITAL Teacher Trainer - DITALS I and II level (Teaching Italian to foreigners - Università per Stranieri di Siena) - TEFL (Teaching English as a foreign language) - Tutor Online (Università per stranieri di Perugia) - Translator and Interpreter (Scuola Superiore per Traduttori e Interpreti di Pescara) - Online Counsellor (Counselling & Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body) Looking forward to meet and have you among my happy and satisfied students!
