About Leonor

Hello! I am Leonor and I am from Spain, although I currently live in Sheffield, England. I love to teach and share resources that I enjoy myself, such as cinema, music and literature, in order to be as immersed as possible in the Spanish language and culture.

I am currently a Spanish tutor for beginners, giving face-to-face classes, through games and activities designed to help them memorise basic vocabulary, as they cannot still hold a long conversation. I am also a Maths tutor (A-Level Mathematics) in Spanish, giving online classes through Zoom. I have worked as a tutor for years, combining it with other jobs. In adittion, during my time at university, I worked in an academy for four years, mainly as a Science teacher.

Whether you are looking for weekly classes, in-depth revision sessions over a couple of days, course-specific support, i.e oral exam preparation or grammar/vocabulary reviews or confidence boosting pre-exams, I am a highly professional tutor who works closely with my clients to achieve their goals. I am also available to revise and correct thesis and any kind of writing works in Spanish.

TUTORING APPROACH

My lessons are completely tailored to your needs and interests. I have many teaching materials at my disposal to work with you on your grammar, vocabulary, listening and writing skills; I offer a comprehensive class that will allow you to pass any official DELE examination or to achieve any other goal that you may have.

Due to my own experience learning English, and the techniques acquired in a Master in Teaching, my classes are based on learning from emotion. I believe that it is key for the student to enjoy the journey and to take care of emotional management: to reinforce confidence when speaking so that the conversation is as spontaneous as possible, learning from mistakes without giving them a negative value.
Furthermore, in a process as long as learning another language, we must set small goals and celebrate them so as not to become frustrated.

ONLINE LESSONS

Lessons are conducted via Zoom and I use a variety of different techniques in order to engage my students. For my lessons I use a wide variety of resources to ensure that we will be able to talk, write, listen and read together, including online vocabulary flashcards, audio and video clips, grammar exercises, games and more.
