I have specialised in teaching Maths at primary school level. I like to use a See it, Try is, Apply it and Reason it approach (STAR). I believe this approach allows children of all abilities to gradually master a range concepts in Maths. This broken down approach avoids cognitive overload and allows children to continuously build on the existing schematas in Maths. It also allows me to assess what part of Maths a child may need additional support and guidance in.
