About Mai

I’m a qualified secondary school Maths teacher offering tutoring for students who want to build confidence and improve exam results. I have a first class honours bachelors degree from Durham University and Masters degree in education from UCL. I’m DBS checked and have 5 years of experience teaching Year7-13 in maths at local secondary school in Ealing. I also teach Further Maths GCSE and am a Mechanics A level specialist. My results have always aligned with students minimum target/predicted grades. My rates are: GCSE Maths — £40/hour GCSE Further Maths — £50/hour A-Level Maths (Mechanics) — £60/hour I also offer a free 15-minute consultation to discuss your child’s goals. About the lesson

- Qualified teacher of mathematics at a secondary school - Able to tailor explanations, model, and approaches to different topics based on your needs and ability - Support you by showing you multiple approaches/methods to solving mathematical problems to ensure we find the best approach that suits you to ensure effective learning - Provide strategies and techniques to support understanding and embed long term recall - Patient and understanding - maths is difficult! Will support you through your challenges and difficulties and continue tackling these hurdles until you have built confidence - Will use continuous questioning when working through problems together as a way of checking for understanding, ensuring effective recall, and building fluency through repetition - Can tutor any GCSE topic, A level mechanics, A level Core - Duration and frequency of lessons can be flexible and discussed - £40ph for GCSE Content. £60ph for A Level Content.
