About Chloe

I’m a Maths tutor with a passion for making complex concepts clear, engaging, and achievable for every learner. I believe that there is no ‘one size fits all approach’ to learning Maths. Whether you need to strengthen your foundations, boost your exam performance, or tackle challenging topics, I will tailor our lessons to your goals and learning style. After completing BSc Maths and Accounting at Newcastle University, I decided to pursue tutoring, having always been keen to help my own Maths teacher with the younger classes during my time at school. This led me to start tutoring, which I have been doing now, both in person and online, for over 2 years, working with students of all abilities from Year 7 through to Year 13. My love of tutoring inspired me to do my PGCE and complete my Initial Teacher Training in 2024, making me a qualified Maths teacher. Doing so gave me a deeper insight into how students learn, and strengthened my understanding of the GCSE mark schemes, allowing me to show you exactly where each mark is picked up. I’m a friendly and supportive Maths tutor, and I like to create a space where my students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and exploring ideas.

About the lesson

My lessons typically include a retrieval starter task, whether it be a topic we have covered previously or something you have been taught in school, ensuring such topics can still be pulled from your long-term memory. I then go through step-by-step examples of the decided topic with clear explanations, and allow you to practise independently with increasingly challenging tasks. I believe that exam question practice is key to building exam confidence and helps it feel a little less daunting when it comes to the real thing! I aim to incorporate exam questions throughout my lessons, whether it’s a simple 2 marker or a more lengthy 5 marker.
