About Toyin

I am a law graduate who has recently qualified with a PGCE and QTS as a Music teacher. This has always been a strong passion of mine, as I thrive when helping others to aspire to achieve their goals and maximise their potential. I wish I received the academic support that I needed, however I still achieved great grades with the support I had from my school. Therefore I understand the struggles of being a GCSE student, and feeling like you cannot do it, or that you aren’t good enough, or simply not having the right support to allow you to understand the content. I want to give you the help that I wish I had access to when I was younger.

About the lesson

My approach would be to attempt to teach the student in a way that engages and interests them, whilst making the effort to emphasise that they are extremely capable. I struggled with confidence and academic ability, yet received amazing grades without having a tutor. I would focus on the areas that they struggle the most on, so that they feel accomplished when they are able to complete it. Simultaneously, I would touch on areas that they excel at, again to keep them motivated. I am very encouraging and personable, so would build a friendly rapport with the student and show that I believe in their academic abilities.

Toyin is my sister and I think she would be a great music tutor. I have seen how her ambition and diligence has driven her own journey as a musician. She started off as a self-taught pianist and went on to win several competitive scholarships owing to her musical ability. If she has shown such dedication towards advancing her own musical knowledge and academic performance, imagine how much she could motivate the young people she tutors!

Toyin is currently training to be a GCSE music teacher. This is providing her with in-depth knowledge of the music curriculum and experience of working with young people of all ability levels. With all of this in mind, I have no doubt that she will offer an excellent tutoring service.
