About Amy

I am a PE Teacher currently teaching in Cornwall, but I am originally from Carlisle. I play rugby and football in my spare time, and enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I have completed 4 school-based placements in secondary schools, and two 5-week summer schools working with international children at a boarding school, where I led sport activities and events. Last academic year, I embarked on two placements in secondary schools where I taught PE daily. I am currently teaching AQA GCSE PE and Cambridge National BTEC, however I have experience delivering content from a range of exam boards. I am a keen learner and always strive to reach my full potential, attending regular conferences and CPD sessions to improve my teaching. I can't wait to help you reach your full potential!

About the lesson

My aim is to develop students' confidence in the subject by solidifying their knowledge, understanding and answering of exam questions. I adapt my teaching style based on the child that is in front of me as I have learnt that no two students learn the same! My typical lesson would consist of 30-minutes of focused revision learning content, followed by 30-minutes of scaffolded exam questions, however this can change depending on what you'd like to achieve from the lesson. I am very much student led and can adapt my teaching style to best fit how you prefer to learn. I can also provide revision tips for use with revision in your own time, and general advice about navigating the subject.
