About Hannah

I have always loved learning languages, inspired from an early age by school trips to Brittany in France and the excitement of immersing myself in another culture. This passion led me to pursue languages at a higher level, studying French and Portuguese (ab initio) at Queen Mary University of London, where I graduated with first-class honours.

I later spent time living in a small town in France called Cahors, teaching English as a Foreign Language in a lycée, which deepened both my language skills and my love of cultural exchange.

I enjoy travelling and discovering new cultures and languages, and this ultimately motivated me to train as a language teacher in the UK. While I love teaching in schools, I am particularly drawn to one-to-one tutoring, as it allows me to focus on building students’ confidence, spending more time on tricky concepts, and sharing the cultural insights that often get lost when teachers are under pressure to move quickly through the curriculum.

My goal is to help students not only improve their language skills, but also develop a genuine interest and enjoyment in languages and the cultures behind them.

About the lesson

I am a qualified language teacher with 3+ years of classroom experience teaching GCSE and A level French, as well as KS3 Spanish, and I also offer English as a Foreign Language lessons.
All lessons are 50 minutes long and taught online, with sessions fully tailored to each learner’s level, needs, and personal objectives.
I am offering tuition to students preparing for UK qualifications (GCSE and A level), as well as primary and KS3 pupils who need extra support or confidence-building. I also welcome adult learners who want to study French, Spanish, or English for personal interest or professional reasons.
My teaching approach is structured but flexible, combining clear explanations of grammar and vocabulary with plenty of guided practice, communication skills, and (where relevant) exam technique and past paper work.
Whether you are working towards an exam, need additional school support, or are learning a language for enjoyment, my aim is to create supportive, engaging lessons that help you make real progress and feel confident using the language.
