About Raichel
Math is one of my biggest strengths—I scored a 1200 on the PSAT, earned 98th percentile in CMAS math, and I’m already taking college-level classes in high school. I’m usually the same age as the students I tutor (and if not, only a few years older), which means I understand how they think and can explain concepts in a way that actually connects. I’ve also been a youth group leader at my church, so I know how to guide, motivate, and support kids while keeping everything respectful and professional. I used to babysit regularly, so I’m patient, responsible, and great at handling different personalities and learning styles. I teach with clarity, confidence, and warmth, making sure students feel understood instead of intimidated. Parents can trust me—I keep my sessions structured, safe, and fully focused on academic growth. My goal is to help students truly understand math, build confidence, and reach their highest potential.

My Approach as a Tutor:
I teach math in a way that finally makes sense. I break concepts down clearly, connect them to real life, and build confidence step by step. I keep the energy positive, I never judge, and I make sure students actually understand instead of memorizing.
My Teaching Method & Techniques:
1. Clear explanations in normal, simple language
2. Visuals, stories, and analogies that make abstract concepts click
3. Guided practice where I show the “why” behind each step
4. Quick thinking drills and mini-challenges to keep lessons fun
5. Personalized pacing for each student
Plan:
1. 2-Minute Confidence Check:
We start with something the student can do to set the tone.
2. “Unlock the Concept” Breakdown:
I introduce the new topic using a simple visual, pattern, or real-life example (like money, games, or puzzles).
3. Solve-Together Round:
We tackle problems side-by-side so the student sees the logic in real time.
4. Independent Challenge:
A short, creative problem that makes them think — not too hard, just enough to build confidence.
5. “Teach It Back” Moment:
The student explains the idea in their own words. If they can teach it, they understand it.
6. Wrap-Up Game or Quick Brain Puzzle:
Keeps the session fun and ends on a win.
What Sets Me Apart:
I don’t teach like a textbook.
I make math feel clear, approachable, and even a little fun.
I’m patient, supportive, and great at explaining things in different ways until it clicks. My students don’t just improve their grades — they start actually believing they can do math.
Who My Lessons Are For:
Elementary & middle school students
Algebra learners who want real understanding
Students who feel “stuck,” behind, or confused
Kids who need a patient tutor who explains things simply
Anyone who learns better with calm, clear guidance
Recommendations
Recommendations come from relatives, friends and acquaintances of the tutor.
I would recommend Rachel to you because of past experiences with her tutoring my daughter, she was very kind and never got mad she always was on my daughters pace and gave very good tricks and skills for things that were hard for her and also my daughter had very good grades after she started teaching her.
Raichel is an exceptional tutor whose dedication, intelligence, and genuine care consistently set her apart. She previously tutored my children, and her ability to explain challenging concepts with patience and clarity made a remarkable difference in their academic confidence. Raichel is not only highly knowledgeable, but she also knows how to teach in a way that keeps students engaged, motivated, and excited to learn.
Although she also regularly babysat for us, she never treated it as a passive job. Instead of simply watching TV like many sitters might, she used that time to help my children with their homework, encourage productive routines, and create a positive environment. My kids absolutely adore her—not just as a tutor, but as someone they trust and genuinely enjoy learning from.
I strongly recommend Raichel for any tutoring position. Her intelligence, reliability, and natural ability to support and guide students make her an outstanding choice.View more recommendations
