About Janelle
I have been studying music for 18 years with the Royal Conservatory of Music. I am a pedagogy student with 3 years of teaching experience under the Royal Conservatory of Music.
My passion for teaching stems from my own piano teacher who I have studied with for over 10 years. My piano teacher did something for me that no one has done before. Beyond simply learning to play an instrument, my piano teacher taught me the joy that comes from making music. This instilled joy for music is what inspired me to become a piano teacher and share this same joy, passion, and inspiration in my own students.
As a piano teacher it is my goal to not only teach students how to play an instrument but I am interested in building character, instilling discipline and commitment and a pure love for music. Alongside teaching, I am also studying to be a lawyer, I hope that my students learn and understand the gift that music can bring them no matter what profession or season of life that they are in.

As a student studying music since the age of four I am passionate about teaching music. A lesson with me will be focused on all RCM requirements for each level. My lessons will include both practical and theoretical learning.
I am an elementary pedagogy student. I am happy to help my students from beginner levels to RCM level 8 piano studies in both practical and theoretical lessons.
I will ensure that my students get out of any bad habits early, including hand posture and technique, paying attention to all musical indications including dynamics, tones, fingering. To enhance piano playing and improve sight reading I will also focus on music analysis and patterns in pieces that will help students read faster and play with stronger hand positioning.
