About Isaac

I’m an Integrated Rehabilitation student at McMaster University, and I’ve spent a lot of time working with children through tutoring, literacy programs, and volunteering.

A bit about me:

500+ hours of experience working with children
Start2Finish literacy coach, providing one-on-one reading support
Previous high school peer tutor for reading and writing
98% in Grade 12 English
Fluent in English and Cantonese

When I tutor, I try to make things feel manageable rather than overwhelming. I’ll break reading and writing down step-by-step, go at your child’s pace, and spend extra time wherever they’re getting stuck.

I also care a lot about confidence. Sometimes a student understands more than they think they do—they just need someone who’s patient, explains things in a way that clicks, and gives them room to figure it out.

That’s the kind of environment I try to create in every session :)

About the lesson

I offer reading tutoring for kids in Grades 1–8.

In my sessions, I focus on:

building reading confidence (especially for kids who feel stuck or discouraged)
improving fluency and comprehension
helping students actually understand what they’re reading, not just get through it

I keep lessons patient and low-pressure so kids feel comfortable making mistakes and asking questions. I adjust everything based on your child’s level and learning style.

I also speak Cantonese, so I’m happy to support bilingual households if needed.

He has the patience and the expertise, as his younger brother and teammate, he shows great care to younger kids and embeds a very likeable characteristic. I can guarantee that he will provide his 100% effort when teaching and you will be left satisfied with his classes. I certainly believe he will be great for beginners.

I wholeheartedly recommend Isaac as a volleyball coach on Superprof. Isaac is very knowledgable and skilled in this sport as he is in Bayview's volleyball team every year and in a volleyball team outside of school as well. He is also incredibly patient, approachable, and dedicated to helping others grow. What makes Isaac stand out is his ability to create a positive and supportive environment as he is able to motivate you every step of the way. He has been practicing this sport since he was a kid and that makes a reliable and professional coach.
