About Leona

Just an update I only do online tutoring now as my spots are filled up. Hi, I’m Leona, a recent Year 12 graduate with a 99.4 ATAR and a strong academic background in Mathematical Methods, Specialist Mathematics, Chemistry, and Physics. While Year 12 was a challenging year, I approached it with resilience and determination, pushing myself to grow both academically and personally. Along the way, the support of dedicated tutors played a significant role in building my confidence and deepening my understanding of complex concepts.

Their guidance inspired me to give back by sharing my own knowledge and supporting other students in their learning journeys. I plan to study Engineering at the University of Queensland and complete a Master’s degree, with the goal of becoming an Electrical or Aerospace Engineer.

About the lesson

I am a Brisbane-based tutor and a recent Year 12 graduate with a 99.4 ATAR, with a strong understanding of the current QTAC and QCE syllabus, including assessment requirements and external exam expectations. My lessons focus on identifying and addressing gaps in understanding while building strong foundations through clear explanations and structured, worked examples.

I use a wide range of high-quality resources to support learning, including multiple past external exam papers, example external-style papers, numerous QCE-aligned exemplars (1A1, 1A2, 1A3), targeted practice questions, and my own carefully prepared materials. Lessons are typically 60 minutes, or longer if required, and can also include teaching content ahead of the classroom. This approach helps students feel confident, well-prepared, and less stressed in their learning.

I plan to deliver online lessons through Google Classroom, where each session follows a structured lesson plan and is supported by clear, well-prepared PowerPoint presentations. During lessons, I actively support students by answering questions, addressing doubts, and ensuring concepts are fully understood.

I also offer in-person tutoring, which can be held at a local library or at the student’s home if required. Please feel free to contact me to discuss availability or to ask any questions.
