About Nathan
Whether you have a budding interest in philosophy, are currently taking a philosophy class in school, or you are a undergraduate student in philosophy, I can help break down those often complicated philosophical concepts in a conversational and student-centred environment—completely tailored to your interests and curriculum/ syllabus. The values guiding my approach are to make philosophical concepts more accessible, and to foster critical thinking skills in young people.

My tutoring approach puts forward seminal concepts in easily intelligible language and connects them to contemporary issues. This enhances understanding by showing students how an understanding of philosophical concepts are valuable for making ethical and critical decisions in a rapidly changing world presenting us with novel and complicated challenges.
What sets me apart from other tutors is my conversational approach. This is in service of my goal to make philosophical knowledge more approachable and accessible. A typical lesson would start with a conversation about the students background knowledge on a particular subject, what they want/need to know for a particular class, and their interests, to establish my guide about what content will appear in future lessons.
