About Mae

For the past 12 years, I have dedicated my time and energy to helping students discover the joy of playing the guitar. Teaching has become more than a job for me—it is one of the most meaningful parts of my life. Over these 12 years, I have had the honour of teaching between 150 and 200 students, including high school learners, college students, and older adults who decided to follow a lifelong dream of learning music. Working with people of different ages has taught me patience, understanding, and the beauty of learning at any stage of life. My teaching journey started with a small group of students in my neighbourhood, but soon my classes grew as more people saw my passion and my commitment to helping others grow.

One of the biggest milestones in my career was guiding several of my students to perform at their first live event. Seeing their confidence grow on stage made me realise how powerful music education can be. I believe that every student has a unique way of learning, and I work hard to make lessons simple, clear, and enjoyable. Whether someone wants to learn basic chords or explore advanced techniques, I support them step-by-step. My goal is not only to teach guitar skills but also to inspire creativity, discipline, and confidence. Teaching has given me many proud moments, and I continue to grow as an educator every day. I am excited to meet new students, learn their goals, and help them become the musicians they want to be. For me, music is a universal language, and being able to share it with others is a privilege I value deeply.

About the lesson

"My teaching methodology is based on Motivation, Communication, Integrity, and Creativity. When teaching guitar, I always try to make students feel inspired. I set clear goals and show simple ways to achieve them. Small wins help students stay motivated and enjoy the learning process. Communication is a key part of my lessons. I explain every concept in simple, clear steps. I use examples, demonstrations, and easy practice routines so students understand fully. Students are always welcome to ask questions or share ideas. Integrity guides how I work. I give honest feedback and create lesson plans that match each student’s level. I stay patient and supportive while helping students improve at their own pace.

Creativity is at the heart of learning music. I use fun exercises such as writing short riffs, exploring strumming patterns, and creating simple melodies. I encourage students to express themselves and discover their own musical voice. Besides guitar, I can also teach related subjects like basic music theory, ear training, rhythm skills, and songwriting."
