About Simon
Education is my passion, especially in Physics. With years of experience teaching, I have received constant, exceptional feedback from my students.
I have had past student change their major at university after finding they were capable of learning physics under my guidance.
In addition to my teaching experience at Massey University, I have also founded the Palmerston North Brass Academy, where I teach brass music to young and new players.

Throughout my time teaching at Massey University I have gained a reputation as one of the best lecturers in physics, if not the entire college of sciences.
The key to physics education is two-fold; understanding that each topic builds on your understanding of previous content, and acknowledging the distinction between physics and mathematics, and these two points form the foundation of my teaching style. I excel at taking any student, understanding where you sit currently, and guiding you along a path of understanding to where you want to be.
No physics tutor should be able to tell you what you need to learn, without first working with you to establish what you already know!
Qualifications: BSc in Physics and Mathematics (with a minor in Statistics), BSc(Honours) First Class Honours in Physics, BA in Philosophy (with a minor in Media Studies)
Experience: Lecturing in first-year to third-year physics courses at Massey University since 2015.
How my lessons work: Lessons are usually 50 minutes in length. I can work with students of any level through high-school, or in their first year of university study.
