About Mehrta

I'm an AI Research Engineer based in Birmingham, working on deep learning systems for medical imaging and human-computer interaction. I hold an MSc in Artificial Intelligence with Distinction from the University of Birmingham, and I'm beginning my PhD in Computer Science later this year.
Alongside my research, I've spent the past few years working across industry and academia building machine learning pipelines in Python, developing real-time C++ software, and contributing to projects funded by Google and UK research councils. I know what employers and universities actually expect, because I work to those standards every day.
Teaching is something I genuinely enjoy. I remember exactly what it feels like to stare at code that won't work, and I've learnt that the difference between confusion and confidence is usually just a clear explanation and a bit of patience. That's what I bring to every lesson: structure, honesty about what matters, and encouragement to keep going.

About the lesson

My lessons are built around one principle: you learn by doing, not just watching. Rather than lecturing, I guide you through writing real code from the first session, explaining each concept as we apply it because that's how programming actually sticks.
A typical lesson runs 60 minutes. We start by reviewing what you've practised, then tackle new material through hands-on exercises, and finish with a clear plan for what to work on next. For university students, I can also work through your coursework, assignments, and project code, helping you understand the reasoning rather than just fixing errors.
I hold an MSc in Artificial Intelligence with Distinction from the University of Birmingham and work professionally as an AI Engineer, building deep learning systems in Python and C++. This means you're learning current, industry-standard practices not textbook theory from ten years ago.
My lessons suit university students taking computer science, AI, or data science modules; professionals transitioning into tech; and motivated beginners starting from zero. I teach in English or Persian, and I adapt my pace to you: patient, structured, step by step, with no question ever too basic.
