About Sam

I am a rising sophomore at Johns Hopkins University studying Neuroscience and French on the Pre-Medicine track. I received an 800 on the SAT math, as well as top scores on AP Calc AB and IB Math AA (a 5 and 7, respectively). I have tutored my peers all throughout high school and I was also a tutor for an international organization through which I instructed over 30 students from over 10 different countries. I am looking to help students prepare for higher-level exams, including SAT, AP, and IB, as well as classes they will be taking in the next semester as they begin college.

About the lesson

My lessons are very interactive with a large portion dedicated to concept application. While the structure of the lesson depends on the needs of the student, my lessons are usually comprised of a concept review (the student should have previous exposure to the concept being taught, as it is a review) with practice problems dispersed throughout, followed by a large portion of the lesson being dedicated to application of the concepts through problems and sometimes an explanation of a process done by the student. I attend a top 10-ranked university and therefore understand and can explain the competitive process of test-taking and college/university preparation. Specifically in mathematics, I have significant experience helping students prepare for the SAT mathematics and higher level mathematics classes (I am currently in Calculus II on the university level and projected for an A this semester). My lessons are for students who are currently taking a class where they have been introduced to the concepts taught in my lesson but are struggling or need more practice.
