About Jay
I'm a dance instructor and studio owner based in Sydney, teaching Garba, Bollywood, Hip Hop, Jazz and Freestyle. I started dancing young and went on to lead national level competition teams to multiple wins, which taught me what real discipline and performance pressure look like. That experience is what pushed me to start teaching, first as an assistant guiding students through technique and confidence, and now running my own studio. I love the moment a student nails a move they'd been struggling with, or finally feels comfortable performing in front of others. I teach because I genuinely enjoy passing on what took me years to learn, and I want every student, whatever their starting point, to leave each class feeling a little more capable than when they walked in.

I teach Garba, Bollywood, Hip Hop, Jazz and Freestyle, focusing on clean technique first and then building confidence through choreography and performance practice. Lessons typically run 45 to 60 minutes and are adapted to the student's pace, whether that's a complete beginner or someone preparing for a competition. I run my own dance studio and have led national level competition teams to multiple wins, so I bring real performance experience into every class. My lessons suit all ages and skill levels, from casual learners who want to have fun and get moving, to serious students working toward a specific event or goal. I keep the energy positive and the structure clear, so progress feels achievable session to session.
