I am a newly graduated teacher (May 202). I have a Bachelor of Science with Chemistry major and Physics minor, along with a Bachelor of Education. I have done tutoring for former students from my student teaching placements over the past 2 years as well as substitute teaching this fall/winter

For teaching I like to include experiments, demonstrations, and technology when possible to help provide hands-on experience and up to date tools. Experiments are a bit harder to do in the current situation and for virtual learning but simulations can still be used for some experiments and practical learning. I believe it is important to get to know your students, their needs, and a variety of assessments to be an effective teacher.
For tutoring I like to nudge students in the right direction when they are having trouble with something or use similar but simpler problems walk through the process of solving the type of problem and/or to get the student to gain confidence with the type of problem.
My teaching/tutoring focus is on secondary physics and chemistry. I am able to do general sciences and math, although I am less experienced and familiar with biology and some grade 11/12 math topics due to not teaching them or using them for a few years.
