Gerald worked hard to achieve his status as a researcher and professor. Starting out as a musician and later achieving a PHD from Oxford tells an interesting journey of a life well spent. Gerald is still working after trying retirement and missing his connection with research and students. He is an excellent teacher with patience and a great sense of humour.
