About Tia
I have spent twelve years teaching programming to more than 450 students, preparing them for successful careers in software engineering and technology leadership. My professional background includes a decade as a senior software developer and architect at major financial and technology companies where I led teams building mission-critical systems. I hold a master's degree in software engineering and maintain active industry certifications in cloud platforms and enterprise development. My students have been hired by banks, tech giants, startups, and government agencies around the world. I am particularly skilled at helping experienced developers transition to new technologies and at guiding beginners through their first professional projects. My teaching is characterized by professional standards, practical focus, and honest feedback. I maintain extensive course materials including video tutorials, code repositories, and architectural case studies from my industry experience. My programming teaching is grounded in enterprise software development practices and prepares students for professional careers in large organizations and tech startups. I teach Java as a foundational enterprise language covering object-oriented design patterns multithreading networking and database connectivity with the depth required for professional certification. Spring framework development is taught through the construction of RESTful APIs microservices and enterprise applications that mirror real industry projects. Cloud architecture is introduced through practical deployment on major platforms teaching students to design scalable resilient and secure systems. I emphasize software engineering practices including test-driven development continuous integration code reviews and agile methodologies. Database design is taught through normalization theory SQL optimization and NoSQL solutions for modern data challenges. For students preparing for technical careers I offer intensive interview preparation covering system design algorithmic problem solving and behavioral competencies.
