About Grace

My name is Grace, and I am a Congolese woman from North London. Spanish is not widely spoken in Congo, yet at the age of nine I made a personal decision to begin learning the language after being inspired by telenovelas. This early passion developed into a strong foundation in Spanish, not only in terms of vocabulary and syntax, but also in understanding accents, cultural nuances, and historical context. Through this journey, I have gained a genuine appreciation for the richness of the Spanish language and culture. I believe this makes me well-suited to inspire and support students in their own learning, as I can relate to the challenges and rewards of studying a language outside of one’s own cultural environment. As a tutor, I aim to bring patience, cultural awareness, and a practical approach to language learning, helping students build confidence in both spoken and written Spanish.

About the lesson

I believe in the importance of consistency so I believe that around three lessons a week would be best to keep the brain stimulated but to also allow the brain to rest. Spanish is not an easy subject (as is the case with most MFL subjects) so we need to maximise the content intake per week. I do not mind tutoring GCSE students as well as A-level students as I do have experience of both. I will provide homework that I expect to be completed and emailed to me two lessons before so that we can go over it on the call. We will always start lessons with a 10-minute translation task and tense practice. My aim is for you not just to achieve top grades but to also understand the culture and language.
