About Harrison
Education is humanity’s greatest power to overcoming inequality. In all aspects of teaching whether pedagogical, social, or in professional appearance. I hold dear to myself that education is an experience rather than a process. My professional philosophy sits heavily around Lev Vygotsky's theory - that learning is related to the environment. I want to tutor for the simple fact that I want you to enjoy learning, develop a passion for English, and see how amazing you can become!

In order to differentiate teaching to each student I do require students to (before the first lesson):
a) Provide me with their year level, in order to compare the syllabus' outcomes and life skills outcomes.
b) Provide me with the text they are currently engaging with. Note: there is no prescribed text lists for grades 7-10 so I will require time to compare syllabus outcomes/content to their text if I have not previously engaged with it. For senior students, there is a prescribed list and I have (mostly) engaged with these texts at university.
c) As a pre-service teacher academic integrity is vital to my professional standing - understand that I can't complete assignments for you!
d) I often start tutoring by requesting the latest completed assessment task, this is in order to compare the students progression against the NSW continuum of learning, syllabus outcomes/content, and identify possible scaffolding.

LESSON TIMES
Lessons can run for as long as necessary and do depend on the specific syllabus outcome identified.
