About Charlotte

I completed my secondary and sixth form education at Lancaster Girls’ Grammar School between 2008 and 2015. Since then I have graduated from University with a first class degree in Accounting and Financial Management and worked as a Tax Consultant for 3 years. I then trained to be a teacher and have been teaching secondary school Maths full time for the past two years. I love learning and love passing on knowledge to others. I have an ability to take something quite complicated and simplify it, making it easier to understand, which is why I love my job as a teacher. A huge perk of the job is that I get to meet new students and get to know and learn things about each individual, which also helps me in how I plan the lessons for each person. I understand that maths is a subject that a lot of people dislike or struggle with, but that’s why I am here to help.

About the lesson

Being a maths teacher I have access to a vast amount of resources and have the ability to differentiate these according to different abilities. I really will personalise the tuition based on each individual - whether this is GCSE exam revision, 11+ preparation, SATs preparation or focusing on areas a student may be struggling with at school and need more help with on a one on one basis. Along with the content, I can personalise the style of the lessons depending on what the student prefers- whether this is working on printed worksheets, or working through questions in a workbook, or using online resources. I am above all a calm natured, friendly, approachable and patient tutor (my students can vouch for me on this!) who loves to teach and help students reach their full potential. Most importantly, I do not judge, and encourage all of my students to ask any questions they may have, as there is never a silly question!
