About Caitlyn

I’ve always believed that every child deserves to feel seen, heard, and understood—especially when learning doesn’t come easily. That’s why I do what I do. I’m passionate about supporting children with additional needs, not just academically, but emotionally too. Over the years and gaining my HLTA, I’ve worked with children who’ve faced all kinds of challenges—from struggling with reading and maths to finding it hard to focus, manage big emotions, or feel confident in the classroom. What I’ve learned is that with the right support, encouragement, and strategies, every child can make progress and feel proud of themselves. I was given the opportunity in a mainstream school to offer interventions like Social stories and many other 6 week programme that have helped students succeed. My approach is gentle, patient, and tailored to each child. I take time to understand what makes them happy, where they need help, and how they learn best. I use a mix of academic support, behaviour strategies, and tools that build executive function skills like attention, emotional regulation, and self-confidence. Teaching for me isn’t just a job—it’s a chance to make a real difference in a child’s life. Seeing them grow in confidence, find their voice, and achieve something they didn’t think they could… that’s what inspires me every day.

About the lesson

I work with children who need extra support with learning and behaviour, using a mix of academic help and strategies that build key skills like focus, memory, emotional control, and organisation. These are known as executive functions—and they’re at the heart of how children manage schoolwork, routines, and everyday challenges. My 60 minute sessions are personalised to your child’s needs and can help with things like reading, writing, maths, managing emotions, or staying on task. By strengthening these core skills alongside their learning, children feel more confident, more in control, and better able to succeed in school. I also work closely with parents to make sure the support is consistent and really works for your child, helping them grow in both their learning and independence.
