About Carol
Hello! My name is Carol, and this September I will be starting my first year studying Physics at Imperial College London. Throughout my GCSE and A-level studies, I have grown to really enjoy Maths and Physics, and would love to spend the rest of my life learning more about the universe in which we live and the underlying maths behind it all. However, I totally understand they can be daunting subjects at times, and so I will do my utmost to help demystify some of the more difficult concepts and hopefully share my passion for the physical sciences!
I grew up in York, where I attended Bootham School and achieved 12 9/A*s in my GCSE studies. I then moved down to Didcot, where I attended Magdalen College School for my A-levels, eventually achieving 4 A*s in Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Chemistry this summer. Along the way, I have picked up countless study tips and tricks which enabled me to ace my exams (albeit learning a good few valuable lessons from my mistakes as well!). I hope that I can use my own experiences to help students prepare for their exams in the most effective way possible.

Having achieved 4 A*s in Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Chemistry at A-level this summer, I am very familiar with both the GCSE and A-level exam syllabus. Thus, I hope to share my own experiences in order to help students most effectively and efficiently prepare for their exams. Depending on the student in question, this may be through consolidating or getting a head-start on topics taught at school, explaining and reinforcing their understanding of more difficult concepts, or doing more specialised exam preparation, primarily through the use of past-paper questions.
I understand that every student is different, and having been in their shoes myself not long ago, I try my best to tailor my teaching style to most effectively suit their interests. This includes taking into consideration their studies at school, as well as other activities which may affect the content of my lessons and any homework set.
Typically, lessons would be 1 hour long, although I am generally flexible on the duration and frequency of lessons. Students from years 7-13 are all welcome!
