As a tutor, I have a student-centered and interactive style. I break down math and physics ideas into simplified concepts that relate to the real world. I get to know each student's learning strengths and weaknesses fairly quickly and tailor my teaching based on whether they are a visual learner, prefer step-by-step worked problems, or are interested in the concept: I consider how my student learns best. I make continuous opportunities for practice problems, simulations, and little assessments in order to help solidify material and track progress. A Typical Lesson Plan: Prior Review (5 - 10 mins): Review of previous material or work. Concept Introduction (10 - 15 mins): Clear explanation of the concept and a good example. Guided Practice (20 - 25 mins): Work through problems together while increasing the difficulty level. Independent Work (10 - 15 mins): Either the student solves the problems independently or with guidance from me. Recap and Homework (5 mins): Review or discuss what is significant from the lesson and assign practice work. What Makes Me Different as a Tutor: I believe I can combine my academic credentials with a level of patience and communication skills. What makes me different is the way in which I envision making an abstract concept more relatable and understandable. I'm not merely concerned with short-term grades. I aim to promote some level of confidence with critical thinking rather than worrying about getting the right answer. I am also completely flexible, and I provide resources to each student at their own pace with their set goals. Who the Lessons Are For: My lessons are designed for: High school students (Grades 9–12) taking algebra, calculus, physics, or AP, IB, or SAT prep courses. Undergraduate students in physics- or math-related programs of study, especially those taking introductory and intermediate courses. Adult learners or professionals proceeding with their education or preparing for a standardized exam, or for a technical exam.
