About Swarna
Teaching comes naturally to me. However, my reasons for becoming a teacher are quite straightforward. As a teacher, I have the privilege to change lives—not one, but a significant number. As a teacher, my role is not just limited to being a mentor. I get to be a mediator, learner, collaborator, writer, interpreter, translator, speaker, researcher, actor and animator, all within the same profession. It is an extraordinary role. I have no doubt that I am making a positive impact on the world while experiencing personal and professional growth. I find it truly gratifying to guide young souls and witness their transformation into amazing individuals. Yes, teaching can be difficult, sometimes underappreciated, and often exhausting, but the rewards make it all worthwhile!

I usually teach school children.
I always try to think how they think. Think about what they will be learning and how they will best learn it. Remember that the way small kids learn is far different from how older students might think and learn.
Fortunately, I have kids of my own who are around the same age level as the ones I am teaching, so like all moms you sort of have to become one of them. We have to imagine ourselves as kids to be able to relate to and connect with them.
Above all, teaching is much like being a parent.
Before you are able to get kids to open up to you, and be willing to give you their full and undivided attention, you have to be able to earn their trust and respect.
Once you have gained their trust and respect as the teacher, the learning, and teaching, will become much easier.
Students actually love to learn, and it’s your job as a teacher to show them how and support them on their incredible, lifelong journey of learning.
