I am a qualified solicitor in England and Wales having completed both the LPC as well as the SQE examination. I have completed 3 years of LLB at the University of Reading, achieving a First Class Honours as well as being top class student. I have also completed a Corporate and Commercial Law (LLM) at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). Exposed to US & EU Competition Law, International Financial law, Corporate Finance and Insolvency Law. I have gained practical experience in top-tier firms in London and abroad.

What is SQE1? The Solicitors Qualifying Examination 1 (SQE1) is the first stage of the SQE assessment, testing candidates on their functioning legal knowledge (FLK). It consists of two separate exam papers: FLK1 and FLK2. Each paper contains 180 multiple-choice questions, making a total of 360 questions across the two exams. The format follows a single best-answer multiple-choice structure, assessing candidates on various topics, including business law, dispute resolution, contract, tort, property law, criminal law, and legal system fundamentals. FLK1 covers topics such as business law, dispute resolution, contract, and tort, while FLK2 focuses on property law, wills and administration, criminal law, and key principles of solicitors’ accounts. The exams are sat on two separate days, typically two days apart, with FLK1 taken first and FLK2 following. Each paper is split into two sessions of 90 questions, with a short break in between, meaning candidates do not answer all 180 questions in one go. The assessment is closed-book, and candidates must pass both FLK1 and FLK2 to proceed to SQE2.
