About Katie
Hey there! I’m Katie Wayne and my pronouns are she/her. I’m from Halifax, Nova Scotia. I’m 33 and I’ve been playing music for about 20 years now. I started picking up a guitar when I was 12 and since then I have developed my own style of songwriting and production. I started recording myself any way I could when I was 13 and I haven’t stopped since then. I am way more comfortable recording the music I write at home on my own than I have ever been in any studio with another producer / engineer. I hope to help you feel that same comfort in creating and capturing your own music in your most safe and comfortable place.

Starting from the bottom we can discuss starting points , structure , songwriting topics , properly and comfortably expressing yourself, production tips and tricks.
We can dive into capturing your sound and how to get the best product possible on your own!
As a transgender musician myself I really wish I had someone else like me to connect with and learn from when it came to making my own music. I would like to make that change and share everything I’ve learned over the last 20 years with you!
This class will be for beginners and intermediate transgender musicians/aspiring musicians only.
