About Evangeline
I am a graduate in Spanish and East Asian studies and a qualified teacher of English as a foreign language.
I learnt Japanese for 11 years before picking up Spanish at university. I then lived and worked in Granada for a year and fell in love with Spain and its unique culture and language. I think the best way to learn a language is simply through diving head first into speaking a LOT, through trial and error in non-pressurised settings. So my tutoring goal is basically to have fun while we improve your knowledge and confidence!
As someone who has studied languages for most of my life, I have a good understanding of how important it is to keep yourself motivated in order to progress to fluency. My aim as a teacher is to be part of that motivation for you in your language journey, to provide help and support to build your confidence and ability.

I tailor my teaching methods to the needs of my students.
First I will assess your learning wants to establish what you want to gain through tutoring, whether it be fluency or accuracy in speaking, reading comprehension, accent reduction, grammar or vocabulary.
I will also assess your learning needs to establish which areas of your target language need improvement in order for you to progress to your learning goal.
From there we will work with a variety of resources including reading, written, speaking and listening exercises. I will provide feedback and improvements where necessary.
The key to my teaching style will be to speak as much as possible, therefore I would like to propose conducting all of the lesson in the target language you wish to learn, however if you would prefer the lessons to be conducted in English, this is fine too.
