About Lena
My interest in Spanish began through a fascination with languages, cultures, and international communication. This passion inspired me to complete a Bachelor’s Degree in Modern Languages before earning a PhD in Spanish Language Education. Over the last 11 years, I have worked with students from many different backgrounds and learning levels.
I believe successful language learning comes from consistency, encouragement, and meaningful practice. My teaching approach focuses on helping students build confidence while developing practical communication abilities. I enjoy creating lessons that are both engaging and relevant to each learner’s goals.
Outside teaching, I enjoy exploring Hispanic literature, studying language acquisition methods, and learning about cultural traditions from Spanish-speaking communities. These experiences enrich my lessons and provide valuable real-world context. Helping students achieve fluency and confidence in Spanish remains one of the most rewarding parts of my work.

My Spanish lessons are designed to help students build practical communication skills while developing a deeper understanding of the language. We focus on pronunciation, grammar structures, vocabulary growth, listening comprehension, sentence formation, and speaking practice through engaging and interactive activities. Every lesson encourages active participation so learners can use Spanish confidently from the start.
As students advance, we explore conversation strategies, cultural topics, reading comprehension, idiomatic expressions, and real-world communication scenarios. Lessons include discussions, roleplays, listening exercises, and guided speaking activities that help learners apply Spanish naturally. I adapt every session to match individual goals and learning preferences.
I believe language learning should feel enjoyable, encouraging, and meaningful. My goal is to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable practicing and improving. Every lesson helps learners become more confident communicators while developing lasting language skills.
