About Isabel

My name is Isabel and I am a Spanish student from Madrid, currently studying Philosophy at Trinity College. Before university, I followed the science track in high school, which gave me a strong foundation in subjects like mathematics, physics, and chemistry. I have three years of experience as a private tutor, teaching students of different academic levels in a variety of subjects, including mathematics, chemistry, physics, philosophy, Spanish, and technical drawing. Throughout my academic journey, I have always achieved high grades, not because of any innate ability, but because of the way I approach learning. I have always been focused on simplifying complex concepts and understanding the fundamental principles of each subject, rather than relying on memorization. This method not only helped me succeed but also led me to start tutoring as a teenager, initially by sharing my study techniques with classmates. Over time, I realized how valuable this approach was for others, which motivated me to continue teaching and refining my methods to adapt to different learning styles.

About the lesson

I have a deep passion for tutoring because the direct interaction between tutor and student allows for a personalized learning experience. The educational system often fails to provide students with a strong foundational understanding of subjects, which is essential for building more advanced knowledge. That is why my approach as a tutor focuses on ensuring a solid grasp of fundamental concepts, helping students not just memorize, but truly understand the subject. I also take into account each student's unique learning style to design a personalized study plan. As a native Spanish speaker, this ad is primarily aimed at offering Spanish lessons. However, I am also qualified to tutor a wide range of subjects, including mathematics, philosophy, chemistry, and physics, for high school students. I like to define my role as a tutor as a tutor of students rather than a tutor of subjects. My goal is not only to teach specific content but also to help students develop critical thinking skills, effective study methods, and confidence in their abilities. I aim to accompany my students in their educational trajectories, providing guidance in any subject they need assistance with. My lessons can be held either online or in students' homes, as I am happy to adapt to their preferences and needs.
