About Seulki

Hi, I’m Seulki — a Seoul-born, U.S.-based Korean tutor with a passion for helping students connect with the language and culture they love.
I moved to the United States at 15 and have spent nearly two decades living between both worlds — keeping my Korean sharp, authentic, and fully current. I still travel back to Seoul regularly to visit family, so the Korean I teach is the Korean people are actually speaking right now.
My Korean is fully balanced across all four skills — speaking, listening, reading, and writing — and I’ve consistently scored 4+ on the DLPT (Defense Language Proficiency Test), a rigorous U.S. military language assessment. That’s not just fluency — that’s certified, tested proficiency. ️
Beyond language, I have real teaching and training experience. I’ve taught children at a Korean church and currently work as a professional consultant where I regularly educate and guide others through complex topics — so breaking things down clearly and patiently is second nature to me.
I’m also personally learning Mandarin right now, which means I deeply understand what it feels like to sit in a student’s shoes. I know the frustration, the excitement, and exactly what kind of teacher makes the difference.
With a Bachelor’s degree, a professional background, and a genuine love for Korean culture — from the latest K-dramas to K-pop — I’m here to make your learning journey fun, real, and effective.
