About Asa
As a lifelong learner and graduate from the Heritage Carpentry program at the NSCC, I've always enjoyed mathematics as a puzzling challenge that can solve many construction-related problems. I've taken university-level math courses, and tutored other students in college.
I struggled with math in high school, but once I was left to my own devices, found that it was interesting and enjoyable. When I went to college, I got used to doing very well in our construction math class, and use what I learned there every day.
As well as being a carpenter, I am a circus performer, puppeteer, and magician, so time spent with me is sure to be fun and entertaining!

I'll break the problem down to small components, showing the essential steps and explaining why the process must be as it is. I love mathematical proofs, and don't think that a student can meaningfully engage in a solution without understanding it.
Whether it's math, carpentry, or circus skills, I love to teach and see students making breakthroughs. There are few things as rewarding as a student's success, so I'm highly motivated to help you understand and complete your assignments.
