About Chaimi

Learning languages has always been the biggest passion in my life and I have learned English, French, German, Chinese, and Japanese so far. I attended a special high school called “international high school” that offers intensive curriculum on language and social studies. These experiences have been a source of inspiration and happiness to me and it grew into a curiosity to human and the world !

If somebody asks me what was the biggest event in my life so far, I would definitely say “2 weeks of exchange program in Blois, France”. I went there when I was 16 years old and saw a completely new world compared to where I was living. This made me dream and I started learning languages even more, and I started craving for traveling.

I decided to study theatre in university as I believed that it will allow me to use many languages while expanding my understanding of culture and human. I worked as a part time teacher during the university time teaching students English, French, and Chinese. On the other hand, I was constantly active on Couchsurfing and hosted travelers who came to Korea.

As I wanted to travel as many times as possible, I became a flight attendant and moved to the Middle-east in 2019. Currently I am on break from the job because of the crisis. Then I asked myself why not teach Korean on the internet and now I am here.

I’ve noticed while working in the air that there are so many people who are interested in my own country and culture. I believe that learning Korean can definitely open up your eyes and opportunities as English and French showed me a new world.

I am basically here to give language lessons but I am ready to also share my experiences and offer good conversation (if needed, debate as well).

저는 어릴때부터 외국어 공부하는 것을 좋아해서 영어, 프랑스어, 독일어, 중국어, 일본어를 배웠습니다. 그리고 제가 언어에 대해 가지고 있던 관심과 열정을 심화시키기 위해서 국제고등학교에 진학해 고등학교에서 생활을 하는 동안 더욱어학에 대한 흥미를 고취시켰습니다.

지금까지 제 인생에서 가장 큰 전환점을 하나 꼽으라면 저는 단연코 고등학생 시절을 뽑을 것입니다. 특히나 제가 16살때 프랑스에서 2주간 했던 체험 프로그램은 지금의 저를 만들었다고 해도 과언이 아닙니다. 당시 한국에서는 몰랐던 새로운 삶의 방식을 보았고, 더 넓은 세상을 바라보고 꿈꾸게 해 주었던 경험이었기 때문입니다. 외국어 공부로 시작된 저의 관심은 사람과 세상에 대한 관심으로, 또 여행에 대한 갈망으로 이어졌습니다. 그 결과로 저는 대학에서 연극을 공부하게 되었고, 첫 직업으로 비행기 승무원을 택하게 되었습니다.

제가 다른 나라와 문화를 보고 대리만족을 하고, 꿈을 키워나갔던것과 마찬가지로, 요즘은 한국을 보고 미래를 구상하는 친구들이 많아지고 있는 것 같습니다. 그 기나긴 여정을 거쳐왔고, 또 거쳐가고 있는 사람으로서 한국어를 통해 꿈을 찾고자하는 많은 사람들과 함께하고 싶습니다.

About the lesson

I have learned myself many languages and I understand the difficulties of it.

On top of it, I passed very selective education in Korea and the language I use is of well educated level. My highschool selects only 140 students from the entire province and you need to pass several test and interview. University I went to is one of the national Grandes Ecoles and choose 5 students per year. There I had intensive writing training on thesis, reports, critics and reviews.

My class will be personalized according to your demand. However basic knowledge to Hangul(alphabets) and some grammar is a MUST!

Some of you might think you will be able to speak Korean by changing some words into Korean and put it into sentence. Unfortunately this is a big misunderstanding.

This trick might work for English-French but Korean-French is a different story.

The basic structure and logic behind the language is very different and you need to start by understanding it.

1. Beginners will learn

- Hangul

- Basic Grammar

- How Human relationships work and How you talk to each person according to this

- Simple and direct conversations (A1-A2 level)

2. Intermediates will learn

- Advanced grammar and exceptional rules

- Conversations from drama or movie scene

- Lyrics of Kpop songs

- How to express precisely with more nuances

3. Advanced will learn

- Writing Style

- How to read and write formal letter, articles, news

- Writing and Speaking simulations depending on what you need (Interview, Job or school Application, Going to Administration, Writing thesis etc)

Chaimi is the greatest native Korean teacher ever you can have. She studied hard and manages to speak in many languages. Therefore, the way how she teaches it's always sympathetic to learners. Potentially, she even can give you tips in your native language as well.
Also, she tells many tips which are useful in "real life" which I find it unique because the textbook could be wrong in a way when it comes to having a conversation with Korean people. Her passion for teaching motivates me to understand Korean culture and also study the Korean language more.

I met chaimi in Busan, and we were fellow students at the time. I was immediately impressed with her language and communication skills. I was interested in learning the Korean language, therefore I asked Chaimi for help. she was clear and decisive in clarifying my questions and, with grace, she has always been helpful to my any difficulty.
