About Flora
I got six 9s and four 8s in my GCSEs, I’m currently in Year 12 at a Grammar School, at my school I’ve tutored a student in English, two students in Latin and help with a Year 7 maths class.

I’m a very enthusiastic person, I’m very persistent and I won’t give up until my tutees understand, I’m encouraging and explain things very clearly. I’m extremely patient, something I’ve learnt from my younger brother who has special needs. I would start by (if I’m tutoring for GCSE Maths) asking them what board they do and looking at the specification for their course. Then I would ask them to go through and highlight the areas they find difficult. I would then plan to cover these areas in our lessons. If they my tutee is in Years 7-9, I would ask what textbook they use and then again what areas they are struggling with. Firstly, I would ask students to complete a past paper so I could assess where they may have problems as well as what they have already told me. For my lessons, at the beginning of the lesson I would explain the topic we are covering in that lesson and get them to write some notes on it and go through some questions with them, as well as doing any specific questions they would like me to do. Then I would ask them to try some questions on their own and I would get them to do some exam questions. Lastly, I would ensure they are doing lots of past papers as this is one of the best ways to learn Maths.
