About Jakub
I'm an ACCA-qualified fund financial controller, and I genuinely enjoy teaching - it's not a sideline to my day job, it's something I've always gravitated towards. At work I've trained new joiners, led modules teaching groups, and I'm regularly the person people come to when they need something explained. Tutoring AAT is the same thing I already love doing, with more time to do it properly.
Accounting isn't something I read up on to teach it's what I do every day: preparing financial statements, running budgets and forecasts, and getting to the bottom of the numbers when they don't behave. So when I teach a topic, I'm showing you how it's genuinely used, not just how a textbook describes it.
What I've learned from training people is that when someone's stuck, it's almost never that they can't do it. Usually they've been taught to memorise rules instead of understanding why the accounting works the way it does. Once that clicks, the exams stop feeling like a wall. That's the gap I'm good at finding and closing.
Over the years I've built my own notes, worked examples and exam-style questions for every unit, so I teach from what actually works rather than from a textbook - in plain English, patiently, and with real examples from the job.
If you're stuck, you're very likely closer than it feels.
Free 30-minute consultation. We'll find what's actually going wrong and build you a study plan around it. No commitment - come and see if I can help.

Here's how a lesson with me actually works. Every topic runs the same way - concept first, then a worked example, then a real exam question - so you understand it, then prove you can do it under exam conditions. No passive read-throughs: you'll be doing the accounting, not just watching me do it.
Lessons are one hour, one to one, mainly online. We usually start by pinning down what's actually going wrong - normally one or two specific topics, not everything - and you'll leave each session knowing exactly what to practise before the next.
I don't teach from a textbook. I use my own notes, worked examples and exam-style questions for every unit - the explanations that land, the mistakes I see again and again, and the shortcuts the textbooks never mention. Everything's in plain English, and because I use this accounting every day in a demanding finance role, I show you how it's genuinely used, not just how it's tested.
Where I help most:
Level 2: double entry that never quite clicked, and the costing and synoptic topics everyone leaves until the last possible minute;
Level 3: period-end adjustments, the extended trial balance, final accounts, and the Business Awareness written tasks (yes, the ones that look easy and aren't);
Level 4: financial statements, budgeting and variance work, and the written technique Applied Management Accounting really tests not the maths you were expecting;
Across every level: exam technique, timing, the Excel and spreadsheet tasks that trip people up, and how to answer written questions instead of just knowing the content and hoping.
Who it's for: AAT students at Levels 2, 3 and 4 - whether you're self-studying, enrolled with a provider, but stuck on the topics they rushed, or resitting a paper you thought you'd pass. If you're putting the work in and still not getting there, that's exactly who I'm here for.

finally after 2 FAPS failed exams, I understood year end adjustments and controls accounts. No jargon, plain English explanation and the logic behind them. Turns out I had memorised DEAD CLICK without understanding what actually drives year end adjustments.
I know Jakub both professionally and privately. His background and ACCA qualification give him real-world credibility to dissect complex accounting terminology into smaller, understandable chunks. He usually explains accounting jargon-free, and once you are comfortable with basic concepts in English, he then introduces accounting terminology. He genuinely understands what “trips up” accounting/finance students. I highly recommend him as an AAT tutor.
